Musk, Ronaldo Join Saudi Crown Prince at Trump’s White House Dinner Amid New US–Saudi Deals
The exclusive event in the White House East Room formed part of the crown prince’s high-stakes visit to the United States, aimed at strengthening ties with Washington through major investments, defense deals, and new cooperation in artificial intelligence.
Elon Musk’s presence at the dinner marked a notable shift in the previously tense relationship between him and President Trump. After months of political clashes and public disagreements, the two appear to be softening their positions.
Reports indicate that the White House invitation — and Musk’s acceptance — signals a thaw in relations and a potential alignment on future technology, manufacturing, and AI policy.
Cristiano Ronaldo, currently playing for Saudi club Al-Nassr, also attended the high-profile gathering. The Portuguese star, whose contract is heavily backed by Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund chaired by the crown prince, was seated prominently near the front of the room.
During his remarks, President Trump joked about his family’s admiration for the football icon, saying:
“My son is a big fan of Ronaldo… I think he respects his father just because I introduced you.”
Ronaldo’s presence at the White House highlights Saudi Arabia’s continued investment in global sports diplomacy, using top athletes to expand its international presence and soft power.
