Peter Obi Denies Photos Linking Him to Trump and MC Oluomo
In a statement released on his official X handle, Obi described the photos and accompanying narratives as “fake and doctored.” He emphasized that at no time did he hold such meetings and urged Nigerians to remain vigilant against the dangers of disinformation.
“My attention has been drawn to some pictures currently circulating on social media, falsely portraying meetings I never had. One of such images purports to show me with US President Donald Trump, alongside a fabricated claim that he praised me. Another seeks to depict me with MC Oluomo in his office,” Obi stated.
He clarified that he had not met Trump recently, nor has he ever met with MC Oluomo. According to him, the fabrications are “deliberately designed to confuse, misguide, and distract the public.”
Obi further noted that if he had engaged in such meetings, he would have personally made them public through his verified social media platforms. “My politics has never been about seeking praise or cheap publicity; it is about confronting the real problems of Nigeria and working towards solutions grounded in integrity, accountability, and transparency,” he stressed.
The former Anambra State governor underscored that his political mission remains focused on addressing the plight of ordinary Nigerians by tackling insecurity, strengthening the rule of law, improving education and healthcare, and lifting millions out of poverty.
