A Nigerian Man Returns $135,000 Mistakenly Credited to His Crypto Account

 In an extraordinary display of integrity, a Nigerian man, Sunusi Danjuma Ali, has returned more than $135,000 (over ₦200 million) that was mistakenly credited to his Bitunix cryptocurrency account due to a system glitch.

Ali recounted that he logged into his Bitunix account recently and was stunned to see an unusually large balance. The amount, which he had not deposited, immediately raised his suspicion that it was the result of a technical error.

Instead of attempting to withdraw or spend the funds, Ali contacted Bitunix support to report the anomaly. His notification prompted the exchange to investigate the matter, after which they confirmed it was indeed a system error. To prevent further complications, the company temporarily froze his account pending reconciliation of the records.

Ali’s decision to return the funds rather than exploit the glitch has been hailed by many as a rare act of honesty in a financial sector often tainted by fraud. In a climate where cryptocurrency scams are rampant, his action stood out as a moral lesson on ethics and responsibility.

While Bitunix has not yet issued a detailed public statement on the glitch, the incident underscores the risks associated with crypto exchanges and the importance of ethical behavior when technical errors occur.
