The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a 45-year-old contractor, David Tersoo, over allegations of domestic assault against his wife and three children in the Mpape area of Abuja.

Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh confirmed the incident, stating that officers successfully rescued the victims during the operation. She disclosed that one of the children was found with visible bruises, while their mother and siblings were later traced and placed in protective custody.

According to Adeh, the man allegedly chased his wife and their 9-month-old baby out of the house at night. One of their daughters, an 8-year-old, was found with visible bruises.

“The suspect was eventually arrested, and in his possession, officers recovered a pump-action rifle, a suspicious white substance, and a rolled-up Naira note. He has also been taken in for drug testing as part of ongoing investigations,” Adeh said.

The FCT Commissioner of Police commended the Ministry of Women Affairs and vigilant neighbors whose swift intervention helped prevent what could have been a tragedy. He further urged victims of domestic violence to speak out, assuring residents of the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and ensuring justice.
