Taraba State University Student Found Dead in Boyfriend’s Apartment in Jalingo

 

Comfort Jimtop (also referred to in some reports as Comfort Jimtop Oliver) was a 100-level student in the Department of Mass Communication at Taraba State University (TSU), Jalingo. She was from Takum Local Government Area in Taraba State.

Her body was found on Friday in her boyfriend’s apartment in Jalingo. The residence where she was found is a compound housing about 15 tenants. On the bed next to where she lay, there were reportedly empty alcohol bottles. When the police arrived, the boyfriend (named Emmanuel Shata) and other tenants had fled the house. The Police Public Relations Officer in Taraba, ASP Leshen James, confirmed that an investigation has been launched to determine what exactly happened. The cause of her death remains unclear. As of now, there is no public confirmation whether foul play, accident, or any other factor was involved. The police say they are working to track down Emmanuel Shata (the boyfriend) and other tenants of the compound.
