Hilda Baci Sets Guinness World Record with Largest Serving of Nigerian Jollof Rice

Guinness World Records has officially announced a new milestone for Nigeria’s iconic cuisine. In a post shared on its verified X (formerly Twitter) handle, the global records body confirmed that celebrity chef Hilda Baci, in collaboration with food brand Gino, achieved the Largest Serving of Nigerian Style Jollof Rice.

The event, held in Victoria Island, Lagos, saw an astonishing 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds 9 ounces) of the popular West African delicacy prepared and served. A video clip posted by Guinness World Records captured the historic moment.

 

Jollof rice, widely regarded as a symbol of West African pride and unity, is beloved for its smoky flavor and vibrant presentation. By setting this record, Hilda Baci and Gino not only showcased the dish on a world stage but also celebrated Nigerian culture, creativity, and community spirit.

This marks another feather in Hilda Baci’s cap, following her 2023 Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, which made her a household name and cultural ambassador. Speaking after the achievement, she expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from Nigerians and reaffirmed her commitment to spotlighting local cuisine.
