EFCC Arrests 37 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Warri and Owerri
The arrests, carried out on Friday, September 19, 2025, followed credible intelligence on the suspects’ alleged involvement in internet and cryptocurrency fraud.
According to the EFCC, the suspects were apprehended while actively operating with various internet-enabled devices to defraud unsuspecting victims.
A suspected kingpin, identified as Robert Ebuka Chukwuedo, reportedly fled his residence on Commissioner Street, Warri, in an attempt to evade arrest. However, several of his associates were apprehended within his mansion.
The anti-graft agency disclosed that the syndicate was allegedly involved in cryptocurrency scams, money laundering, and other cyber-related crimes.
Items recovered from the suspects include exotic cars, smartphones, laptops, and fetish materials.
The EFCC confirmed that all suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
