Our Drivers Can Apply for Housing Loans, Jobless NUPENG Drivers Can Join Dangote CNG— Says Aliko Dangote

Aliko Dangote says his CNG drivers earn more than graduates and can apply for housing loans, inviting NUPENG drivers to join.
Aliko Dangote, has announced new opportunities for drivers under his company’s Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) initiative, highlighting improved welfare and earning potential.

Speaking recently, Dangote revealed that drivers working in his CNG transport operations not only earn competitive salaries but also have access to housing loan schemes designed to improve their living standards.

“Our drivers can apply for housing loans, and our drivers earn more than a graduate,” Dangote stated, underscoring the value his company places on skilled workers in the logistics chain.

In a call for inclusivity, he extended an open invitation to members of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) who may be out of work. “Any NUPENG driver who doesn’t have a job and wants to join Dangote CNG drivers to earn more money is welcome,” he added.

The announcement comes as Nigeria pushes for wider adoption of CNG as a cheaper and cleaner alternative to petrol and diesel, with Dangote positioning his conglomerate at the forefront of this energy shift.

Industry observers say the move could not only create jobs but also raise the profile of professional drivers, many of whom are vital to sustaining supply chains across the country.

With this new initiative, Dangote once again signals his commitment to investment in both people and infrastructure, while also advancing Nigeria’s transition to cleaner energy.
