Army Officer Abducted in Delta State, JTF Launches Manhunt
According to reports, Josiah had attended a marriage ceremony in Kpakiama community over the weekend before returning to his lodge at Bomadi, the council headquarters. Armed men reportedly stormed the lodge between 2:00 a.m. and 2:30 a.m., ransacked rooms, seized mobile phones from guests, and abducted the officer.
Eyewitnesses said the kidnappers fired several shots during the operation and fled with the victim in a waiting vehicle. Bloodstains were found at the scene, raising concerns over the officer’s condition.
The following day, Joint Task Force (JTF) operatives recovered the abandoned getaway vehicle along the Tuomo–Ogbobagbene–Tamigbe–Torugbene–Ojobo road in Tuomo community. The vehicle has since been moved to the JTF base at Bomadi-Overside for investigation.
Meanwhile, heavy patrols by soldiers have intensified across Bomadi and surrounding communities. Residents, however, expressed fear of possible reprisal attacks, urging the military to avoid targeting innocent civilians as they hunt for the perpetrators.
