Police Recover Stolen Toyota Highlander, Arrest Suspect in Abia
The Abia State Police Command has announced the recovery of a stolen Toyota Highlander SUV and the arrest of a suspect linked to the crime.

In a statement released late Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chinaka, on behalf of Commissioner of Police Danladi Isa, the command confirmed the arrest of Emeka Edwin Chukwuma, a native of Umuchu, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.

According to the police, the recovered vehicle—a Toyota Highlander with registration number BBR667RM—was originally reported stolen in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, in 2022.

“In furtherance of investigations into a case of a stolen vehicle reported in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, in 2022, but suspected to have been moved to Abia State, leveraging on credible and actionable intelligence, operatives of the Scorpion Squad of Abia State Police Command, on 22/08/2025, recovered a Toyota Highlander SUV and apprehended one Emeka Edwin Chukwuma in relation to the incident,” the statement read.

The command assured the public of its continued commitment to fighting crime and urged residents to always provide useful information to aid police operations.
