Bauchi Governor Appoints Chinese National Li Zhensheng as Economic Adviser
Governor Mohammed described the appointment and the MoU as pivotal steps toward positioning Bauchi as a rising hub for international cooperation. The initiative is expected to accelerate foreign investment, drive infrastructure growth, and foster bilateral collaboration across agriculture, education, healthcare, manufacturing, mining, oil and gas, and trade facilitation.
A key feature of the agreement includes establishing a Bauchi State Representative Office in China to oversee project implementation and ensure timely delivery.
The governor emphasized that the collaboration aligns with the broader diplomatic objectives between President Xi Jinping of China and President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria, enhancing ties at both national and subnational levels.
Governor Mohammed noted:
“This agreement is not just about infrastructure,it’s about transforming lives. We are opening Bauchi to the world.”
In response, Mr. Zhensheng who serves as both the appointed Economic Adviser and Chairman of the China Global Promotion Cooperation Research Centre pledged to mobilize global resources for the state’s economic transformation, promising sustainable growth, modern infrastructure, and improved livelihoods for Bauchi residents.
