Tinubu Orders Employment, #250k Awards for 200 NYSC Members

President Tinubu honours NYSC awardees with federal jobs, ₦250,000 cash prizes, and postgraduate scholarships
President Bola Tinubu has approved automatic employment in the federal civil service for 200 outstanding National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in recognition of their exceptional service between 2020 and 2023.

Announced on Tuesday, July 29, the President also awarded each honoree a cash prize of ₦250,000 and a fully funded scholarship to pursue postgraduate studies at any Nigerian university.

Speaking at the combined President’s NYSC Honours Award Ceremony (2020–2023) held in Abuja, the President—represented by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha—commended the awardees for their discipline, patriotism, integrity, and dedication to national service.

In a gesture of inclusivity, Tinubu also directed that 10 physically challenged ex-corps members, who sustained various degrees of disability while serving, be given immediate federal employment. He assured them that their sacrifice to the nation would never be forgotten.

“The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation and the Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission have been instructed to begin the employment process immediately,” the President said.

The ceremony honored top-performing corps members—male and female alike—who demonstrated outstanding commitment and excellence during their service years.
