AAUA Student Murder Case: Landlord Dies in Custody, Students Demand Justice

AAUA students protest after landlord dies in custody over abduction and murder of two students
Oladele Femi (alias “Tallex”), the landlord accused of orchestrating the abduction and murder of two Adekunle Ajasin University (AAUA) students—John Friday Abba (25) and Andrel Eloho Okah (19)—has died while in police custody. He reportedly fell ill during detention and was rushed to a hospital, where he passed away on July 18, 2025.

Police confirmed he had been under medical supervision since his arrest and had been in and out of hospital before his death.

The two students disappeared on June 20, 2025. Investigation ensued after a petition filed on June 24

During the investigation, suspects were arrested: Oladele Femi, who reportedly confessed to masterminding the abduction, and two others—known as "Kola" and "Michael"—who were accused of withdrawing ₦800,000 from Abba’s account while the victims were held captive.

The female victim, Eloho Okah, had her decomposing body recovered near the Ondo–Ekiti border. Efforts remain ongoing to locate Abba’s remains

The AAUA Students’ Union has demanded that the police hand over the body of the deceased suspect, stressing the need for transparency and a fair, timely investigation.

Student leaders have given the police an ultimatum to comply, warning that failure to do so could lead to mass demonstrations
