New Driver’s License and Number Plate Fees in Nigeria Effective June 8, 2025

Starting tomorrow, Sunday, June 8, 2025, Nigerians will face increased costs for obtaining or renewing driver's licenses and vehicle number plates, following a nationwide price adjustment approved by the Joint Tax Board (JTB). The new fees apply to all new applications, renewals, and reissues across the country.

The JTB attributes these increases to the introduction of enhanced security features in both number plates and driver's licenses, as well as rising production costs . The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and State Motor Vehicle Licensing Authorities have been directed to implement the new rates nationwide.
