Premier League: Aston Villa vs Fulham

The only goal of the game came in the 22nd minute, courtesy of Villa's talisman Ollie Watkins. The England international capitalized on a defensive lapse from Fulham, latching onto a clever through-ball from Douglas Luiz before calmly slotting the ball past goalkeeper Bernd Leno. It was Watkins' 18th goal of the league season, underlining his importance to Unai Emery’s high-flying side.

Villa dominated the opening stages with their usual high tempo and attacking intent. Moussa Diaby and Leon Bailey caused constant problems down the flanks, stretching Fulham’s defense and creating space in the middle. Despite enjoying less possession, Fulham responded positively after the goal, gradually growing into the game with Alex Iwobi and Andreas Pereira pulling strings in midfield.
