Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, alongside celebrity businessman Cubana Chief Priest (real name Pascal Okechukwu) and a group of close associates, paid a high-profile courtesy visit to the President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja on Wednesday.

The visit, which drew significant attention on social media, was described by sources close to the delegation as a gesture of goodwill and a conversation on youth engagement, entertainment industry development, and national unity.

Welcoming the entourage, Senate President Akpabio praised Davido for his global achievements in music and for being a positive ambassador of Nigeria. He acknowledged the growing influence of the Nigerian entertainment industry in shaping perceptions of the country internationally and underscored the need for greater collaboration between creatives and policymakers.

“Davido is not just a musical icon; he is a symbol of Nigeria’s vibrant youth and creative energy. The Senate is committed to supporting policies that promote the creative industry, empower our young people, and encourage public-private partnerships,” Akpabio stated during the meeting.

Davido, in his remarks, thanked the Senate President for the warm reception and expressed appreciation for the support he has received from Nigerians across different walks of life. He emphasized the importance of government support for entertainment, youth entrepreneurship, and national unity through culture.

“This is more than a courtesy visit; it’s an opportunity to show that the creative industry and public leadership can work together for the benefit of the youth. There’s so much talent and potential in Nigeria, and we can achieve more with the right kind of policies and collaboration,” Davido said.

Cubana Chief Priest, known for his philanthropic efforts and strong social media influence, also lauded the Senate President for his engagement with young Nigerians and called for more investments in youth-driven initiatives.

The visit ended with photo sessions, informal discussions, and mutual expressions of support for youth empowerment and national development.
