Abia State Government Approves Recruitment of 5,300 Successful Teaching Candidates
The Abia State Government has announced the recruitment of 5,300 teachers who successfully passed the recent recruitment interviews conducted across the state.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Education, the newly recruited teachers emerged through a transparent and merit-based selection process aimed at addressing the shortage of qualified educators in public schools.
The recruitment exercise is part of the state government’s broader strategy to revitalize the education sector, improve teaching standards, and enhance learning outcomes in both urban and rural schools.
Governor Alex Otti reiterated his administration’s commitment to prioritizing education, stating that the new teachers would be properly trained, equipped, and deployed to areas of greatest need across the 17 local government areas of the state.
Further details regarding the deployment and orientation of the successful candidates are expected to be released in the coming days by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and the Post-Primary Schools Management Board (PPSMB).
